Security is very important, especially if the site contains patient-identifiable data. Depending on the level of data held within the website we make sure the following issues are addressed:
• Close all ports except HTTP (80) or HTTPS (443).
• Place website on separate secured subnet (DMZ) away from the rest of your network.
• Firewalls though not necessary, are advisable.
• Use well-known and up-to-date anti-viral software.
• Ensure that the Web-hosting software (IIS, Apache etc.) is kept up-to-date with the latest patches.
